Financial Literacy Video Game for Kids Launches Mobile App

Edmonton Edtech company launches App as global E-Learning Market Booms

Amid rising demand in the global market for E-Learning, a Canadian EdTech company is going mobile to make learning how to plan a future financial wellbeing more accessible to children.

MoneyPrep teaches kids how to make smart money decisions with games, challenges and lessons that are fun, habit-forming and are learned in a way that kids are already spending much of their free time: playing video game apps!

The timing of the launch of the MoneyPrep app coincides with a robust E-Learning global market that has been bolstered by the COVID-19 lockdowns.

More than 1.2 billion students in 186 countries moved to online learning in March 2020. Since then, there has been a massive uptick in e-learner numbers. In fact, projections for the global market have recently been revised from the previously forecasted US$250.1 Billion in 2020 to the updated US$457.8 Billion by 2026.

MoneyPrep already has thousands of users with over 7 million games played since the online learning game officially launched in January 2021. Co-founder, Pam Liyanage, expects the number of users to rise with mobile accessibility. “Our program has grown extensively. It’s very validating. I feel rewarded knowing that there are thousands of kids out there that are playing MoneyPrep and learning those smart money skills that will make a difference in their lives.”

The MoneyPrep App is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
